45 percent of applicants to Brigham Young University-Hawaii were admitted for fall 2018

At Brigham Young University-Hawaii, 77 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 61 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Laie enrolled 3,176 students in fall 2018, all in undergraduate programs, data shows. 4 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

8 percent of undergraduates are residents of Hawaii, and 77 percent are residents of other states. 16 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (33 percent) and Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander (7 percent).

The school admitted 45 percent of the 2,970 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 42 percent enrolled.
