Cost of college went up for all students at Chaminade University of Honolulu

Tuition and fees rose 3.5 percent for 2018-19 at Chaminade University of Honolulu, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Hawaii students paid $25,374 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $860 more than the $24,514 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 99 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 254 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.4 million and 86 students took out student loans totaling more than $478,554.

Including all undergraduates (2,150), 1,556 students used grants or scholarships totaling $19.7 million, and 706 students took out $5.1 million in federal student loans.
