O‘AHU – The island’s premier soccer complex is closing for one month, providing Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation staff the opportunity to revitalize the popular fields and facilities.
Waipi‘o Peninsula Soccer Complex is scheduled to be closed for the entire month of June 2023, during which time a variety of intensive field and facility maintenance is anticipated, including:
- Aerating
- Verticutting (clearing top thatch buildup)
- Weed Control
- Fertilizing
- Soil Cultivation
- Irrigation Repairs
- Sidewalk Maintenance
- Renovating Traffic Islands
- Power Washing
- Additional Water Feature Inspections & Repairs
We appreciate the patience and understanding of park users as we conduct this necessary maintenance, with the goal of rejuvenating the fields and bringing the facilities up to pristine condition.
The Waipiʻo Soccer Complex is the first and only soccer facility of its kind in the State of Hawaiʻi with 21 regulation fields, including a 5,000-seat stadium with lights for evening events. The complex covers 288 acres and is designed to serve the 30,000 soccer players on Oʻahu and numerous others who are interested in scheduling international tournaments in Hawaiʻi.
