HONOLULU – The City & County of Honolulu, Department of Design and Construction is preparing to begin repairs to a section of existing Mānoa Stream drainage channel located behind 2748 Poelua Street. The goal of this project is to enhance the stability of the existing channel slope by installing anchored gabion walls and conducting necessary repairs to the stream’s concrete apron.

Construction is scheduled to be performed Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., starting Monday, June 26, 2023 through December 2023.

During the construction period, Poelua Street will remain open to the public for traffic. However, "NO PARKING" signs will be placed in certain locations. Drivers are asked to observe the dates and times of “No Parking” notices as vehicles parked on posted streets will be towed at the owner’s expense. Please be aware of all traffic control devices and posted signs while traveling through the area.

We appreciate the public’s patience while the City & County of Honolulu continues to make these improvements.
