DTS has been awarded $20 million to purchase new battery electric buses by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA)! The funding is part of a Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that increases funding for low-and no-emission buses.
The City has a total of 17 electric buses that are currently serving different routes across the island. We are planning to use these grants and additional funds to purchase more EV buses for the fleet. We expect to see these new EV buses in 2024.
